Memorable ways to get from point A to point B in Europe

The saying goes, "It's not the destination, it's the journey." This list holds true to  transportation ideas that are worth checking off your bucket list.

CAPRI– Sail around the small island off the coast of Sorrento.  Hire a private boat that will make frequent stops to swim in the refreshing Mediterranean. Hop on a small row boat where you can duck into the famous blue grotto and listen to the echoes of Italian accapella. 

BEAUNE- Bike through the Burgundy wine region of France. Cycle through the vineyards, wineries and charming villages, stopping to taste the well-known pinot noir and chardonnay.   

TURKEY- Float over Cappadocia’s kingdom of rock formations and cliff dwellings in a hot air balloon.

VENICE- Aboard the timeless Venice Simplon Orient Express and journey on the classic train route from London to Venice.  Pass through French pastures and the majestic Swiss alps in one of the beautiful dining cars with all the glitz and glamour and impeccable service of past eras. 

 

CHAMONIX- The Aiguille du Midi cable car will take you 20 minutes up 12,605 feet to dramatic 360 degree views over the French, Swiss and Italian Alps.         

 

BORDEAUX- Run the Marathon du Medoc  which kicks off in Pauillac in the Bordeaux wine region.  Run next to scenic vineyards and taste from over 23 glasses of famed vintages along the route.
